Let them eat mice!
When the night after I returned from an extended absence my cat left a mouse on the stairs near my bedroom, I was pleased: both for him (successful hunt) and for myself (he still cared for me). I neglected to make it a FujiKodak moment. That was a couple of weeks ago, and in the mean time (heat wave and drought being the context) no new trophies.
Last night he brought in a little baby mouse (judge the size compared to my finger):
Tonight, late this afternoon in fact, he left another, larger and more mature mouse. He left it next to his bowl of kibble. I wonder. Is this is his way of saying he isn't satisfied by the quality of the chow?
